Description:
UPMC OFFERS A $15,000 SIGN ON BONUS WITH A 2-YEAR COMMITMENT FOR NEW HIRES.
In addition to performing imaging procedures at an advanced level, coordinates workflow, assists with projects and coordinates educational activities. Functions as a working technologist and distributes workload to ensure efficient operations. This position works day shift with holiday and weekend on call.
Responsibilities:
- Performs all job responsibilities of Level II MRI Advanced Technologist including practices and maintains MR safety in the department, addresses patient safety through proper patient identification, labeling/preparation/and administration of contrast and communicating according to standard operating procedures, completes procedures according to protocol while presenting relevant information to physician, and updates and documents patient information into rad assessment.
- Leads orientation and training for new hires, students and other medical personnel; ensures competencies are completed in the required time frame. Responsible for offering remediation with technologists when necessary.
- Coordinates daily workflow and schedule of the department while maintaining staffing levels based on, but not limited to, call offs, vacations, patient volumes, and training needs.
- Assists with quality assurance projects and assists in the development of exam protocols alongside of or in place of Advanced Level II MRI Tech and communicates results back to departmental leadership.
- Assists in talent acquisition interviews for successful recruitment of MRI Technologist candidates and provides feedback for annual performance reviews.
- Assumes the leadership role in the absence of the supervisor.
- Completion of formal training in MRI-related program accredited by the ARRT or completion of an accredited CNMT program or accredited ARDMS program.
- 3 years MRI experience required. Performance review consistent with minimum of strong/ Solid performance on last performance review.
