Job Description CD PROJEKT RED is currently seeking a Lead Network Engineer to join our team working on Cyberpunk 2, the next mainline Cyberpunk 2077 game. As a Lead Network Engineer, you and your team will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing the network architecture and online systems. You will lead and manage a team of talented engineers, working collaboratively to ensure seamless and robust online systems. We are seeking a candidate with a blend of proven management experience and technical expertise in networking for games- if that's you, we encourage you to apply! Daily Responsibilities Manage a team of engineers, with duties including hiring, supporting the performance and career development of your reports while fostering a team environment of collaboration and innovation. Design, implement, and maintain scalable and efficient network architectures for online features. Ensure low-latency, high-performance online experiences for players. Lead your team to develop and optimize multiplayer systems, including matchmaking, and address challenges related to latency, bandwidth usage, and server performance. Work closely with game designers, gameplay programmers, and other departments to integrate network features seamlessly. Collaborate with IT and infrastructure teams to ensure reliable server deployment and maintenance. Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in network programming and online gaming technologies. Evaluate and integrate new tools and technologies to enhance the studio's network capabilities. Qualifications At least 7 years of professional experience as a programmer within the games industry. At least 1 year of leadership/managerial experience. Proven track record of leadership in a senior network engineering role Proficient in C++ programming and deep knowledge of Unreal Engine. Deep understanding of software architecture principles and experience designing scalable, performant systems. Ability to think creatively and strategically to overcome technical challenges and drive innovation in technology. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Nice to have Experience working in an Agile development environment is a plus, with a mindset geared towards adaptability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
