Priory Hospital Ticehurst House’s Highlands Unit is a welcoming, nine-bed facility, offering person-centred care, treatment and support for adults facing mental health challenges.
Highlands is situated in a character building, within our extensive main grounds, in the beautiful East Sussex countryside. We can support people with a range of mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety, stress and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. As Lead Occupational Therapist, you will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients.
You can find additional information in the attached job description.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
Our work is rewarding but can be challenging, so resilience is key. No two days are the same! Your natural empathy will help you support others through both the highs and lows.
We are currently seeking a Lead Occupational Therapist to join our dedicated team at Priory Ticehurst Hospital. In this role, you will work as part of a committed multi-disciplinary team to manage and coordinate treatment plans, engage patients in therapeutic and meaningful activities tailored to their individual needs, and build strong working relationships with both clinical and professional colleagues. You will also be responsible for the supervision and development of junior staff, ensuring effective performance and professional growth. Accurate and up-to-date record-keeping of each patient’s rehabilitation progress is a key part of this role.
To be successful, you must be an HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist with strong communication and interpersonal skills. You should have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, and experience working with patients who present with complex needs in an inpatient mental health setting. Most importantly, you will bring a genuine passion for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.
