The Lead of Emerging Technology Programs will be responsible for coordinating and delivering on specified education initiatives at the university that will often span the campus community and beyond, starting with one of the university’s most ambitious goals: AI Fluency. This role offers a unique opportunity to be part of driving transformative programs that empower students, faculty, and staff.
The Lead will be responsible for executing on strategy, building structure, and providing the necessary support and resources to enable units across campus to successfully deliver on these initiatives. Collaboration and coordination will be essential, as this work spans multiple departments and audiences.
The primary focus in the near and medium term will be the university’s AI Fluency initiative, announced in the summer of 2025. This flagship effort aims for the Class of 2029 to graduate with the ability to confidently and effectively apply AI in their field of study.
Reporting to the Executive Director of the Center for Software Innovation (CSI), the Director will oversee all key workstreams: developing execution plans, collaborating with units across the university to bring them to life, and tracking progress. The ideal candidate is an experienced leader who has successfully driven high-impact, cross-functional initiatives with clarity and purpose.

Additionally, the Lead will work closely with the Office of Technology and Digital Innovation (OTDI) to explore potential edtech tools or operational solutions that support these efforts. Close collaboration with faculty and educators will be essential, both for feedback and co-creation. The Lead will often be called upon to convene and lead working groups of educators, staff, and students—facilitating collaboration and aligning execution across teams.
A strong candidate will have a demonstrated understanding and avid, self-driven interest in learning the latest in emerging technology, trends, and continuous education in the uses, impact, and trajectory of new technology. Further, an ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in developing upskilling initiatives and/or education.
