Title: Lead Offshore Designer KBR’s Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) group is looking for Lead Offshore Structural Designer / Checker to support a Major Offshore Oil & Gas Development Project involving FPSO facilities, jacket platforms, topside modules, living quarters, and fixed offshore installations. The project includes execution of Detailed Engineering phases under complex marine environmental conditions, requiring advanced 3D modelling integration, multidisciplinary coordination, strict offshore compliance standards, and delivery within fast-track schedules across global execution centres. We are looking for a highly experienced Lead Structural Designer / Checker responsible for overseeing offshore structural modelling, drawing production, and design verification activities during detailed engineering phases. The role includes leading a team of designers, ensuring model and drawing quality, maintaining compliance with offshore standards, and coordinating with multidisciplinary engineering teams using E3D/S3D platforms and AutoCAD-based deliverables. Responsibilities: Lead and supervise offshore structural modelling and drawing activities for FPSO modules, jackets, topsides, pipe racks, and offshore platform structures. Perform checking and verification of structural models and drawings developed in E3D and Smart 3D (S3D). Prepare and review General Arrangement drawings, fabrication drawings, connection details, platform layouts, and structural deliverables using AutoCAD. Ensure modelling and drawings comply with project specifications, offshore standards, and engineering design requirements. Coordinate closely with Structural Engineers to implement analysis inputs, design changes, and constructability requirements within the 3D model. Manage interdisciplinary coordination with piping, equipment, electrical, and mechanical teams within the integrated 3D environment. Review vendor drawings and incorporate required inputs into offshore structural layouts and models. Ensure clash-free modelling and participate in model review sessions and constructability reviews. Guide and mentor structural designers and ensure adherence to project schedules and quality standards. Support weight control activities by ensuring accurate modelling of structural components contributing to weight and CoG tracking. Provide design support during fabrication, load-out, transportation, and offshore installation phases when required. Ensure compliance with company procedures, offshore drafting standards, and project deliverable requirements. Qualifications: Diploma in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification. Minimum 15–20 years of experience in offshore structural design and detailing. Extensive hands-on experience in offshore oil & gas projects. Strong expertise in E3D and/or Smart 3D (S3D) modelling environments. Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD for preparation and checking of structural drawings. Good understanding of offshore structural systems including jackets, topsides, FPSO modules, and support structures. Familiarity with offshore design practices and applicable standards (API, ISO, DNV concepts awareness). Strong experience in drawing checking, model validation, and quality control processes. Ability to lead design teams and coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering groups. Good communication and technical coordination skills. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in detailed engineering and brownfield offshore modification projects. Exposure to offshore fabrication yard practices and installation requirements. Experience in model administration support and project setup within E3D/S3D environments. Knowledge of lifting arrangements, transportation supports, and constructability considerations. Experience working with international EPC contractors and global project execution teams. Ability to support digital model reviews and offshore constructability studies.
