  • Proven experience with OpenSearch development
  • Strong background in developing high-performance legacy systems
  • Experience across the feature lifecycle: analysis, design, implementation
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly in a technical stakeholder environment
  • Ability to work independently while contributing within a collaborative team structure
  • AWS, Terraform, and Unix-based systems
  • Experience working with or for NHS or similar public-sector digital services
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and shifting requirements

ABOUT THE ROLE

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Lead OpenSearch Developer to work for our client within the public sector. This is initially a 9-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role that will be based in London or Leeds.
Our client is seeking a talented Lead OpenSearch Developer to develop back end features and extra questions set as well as supporting the wider development with implementation of architectural improvements. The ideal candidate will be proactive, technically skilled, and comfortable working in a dynamic team environment with stakeholders and internal SMEs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct detailed analysis, design, and implementation of new Back-end features and extended question sets
  • Contribute to broader architectural enhancements across the service, supporting the wider development team
  • Liaise with Technical and Product SMEs to ensure seamless integration of features aligned with the client’s requirements
  • Plan and manage your own workload, effectively communicate progress or blockers, and seek support where needed
