LEAD OPERATOR- FOOD MANUFACTURING

We’re looking for a Lead Operator to help drive performance on the production floor and ensure smooth, safe, and efficient operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, on behalf of one of our clients.
As a Lead Operator, you’ll take responsibility for meeting daily production goals across output, waste, yield, and efficiency. You’ll play a key role in maintaining standards, ensuring accurate documentation, and supporting continuous improvement efforts.
Location: Naas, Co. Kildare
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent role
Rate per hour: €14.30- 15.50 per hour DOE + 20% shift bonus
Hours: Monday-Friday, start time between 12 noon/4pm, 8hr shifts

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Previous experience within manufacturing/production.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, quality systems, and company procedures.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated ability to work proactively as part of a team.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage tasks effectively.
  • Competency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing demands and production needs.
  • A strong sense of responsibility and ownership of your work.
Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Achieve daily production targets for output, waste reduction, efficiency, and yield.
  • Record key production and management data at scheduled intervals, including downtime, waste, process logs, and non-conformances.
  • Oversee tools, machine parts, and probes—ensuring proper use, reporting, and replacement in line with foreign matter procedures.
  • Maintain control over Critical Control Points (CCPs) at all times to ensure food safety compliance.
  • Support energy conservation and waste management initiatives.
  • Ensure machines and work areas are clean, safe, and hygienic at all times.
  • Operate all equipment in accordance with provided training and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Follow all hygiene, health & safety, and quality protocols as per company and regulatory standards.
  • Produce and pack product according to “get it right first time” standards and customer specifications.
  • Proactively identify and report maintenance needs to the Production Supervisor.
  • Work closely with colleagues to maintain a steady flow of materials and avoid stoppages.
  • Demonstrate flexibility to help meet production goals during breakdowns or production delays.
  • Suggest process improvements or changes that could boost productivity, safety, or quality.
