As Lead OSS Engineer, you will shape the platforms that underpin service assurance, monitoring, and operational performance across a complex environment.  You’ll work across architecture, engineering, and operations to improve how we detect issues, automate workflows, and scale our OSS capabilities. This role goes beyond platform support. You will lead technical direction, guide integration across OSS and network systems, and lift how we approach automation and observability. Your work will directly influence how quickly issues are identified, how efficiently services are delivered, and how resilient our network operations remain.  Ko tō mahi – What you will do  Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will lead the design, integration, and optimisation of OSS platforms across our network and service environments. You’ll work closely with Network Operations, Engineering, and product teams to deliver monitoring, automation, and service assurance capabilities that improve operational visibility and performance.  What you’ll be responsible for  * Leading the design and implementation of OSS platforms, ensuring alignment with network and enterprise architecture * Driving integration across OSS, BSS, network elements, and vendor systems * Improving monitoring, alerting, and service visibility across network services * Developing automation and orchestration to streamline provisioning, monitoring, and incident response * Supporting andoptimisingplatform performance, scalability, and reliability * Leading upgrades, lifecycle management, and continuous improvement initiatives * Building APIs, integration workflows, and data flows across OSS ecosystems * Providing technical leadership, including mentoring engineers and guiding best practice * Diagnosing complex issues across integrated systems and improving fault detection Nā tōu rourou - What you will bring  Our ideal candidate will demonstrate:  * Extensive experience in OSS, monitoring, or network systems engineering (typically 10+ years) * Deep understanding of service assurance, monitoring platforms, and network visibility tools * Strong knowledge of IP networking, network infrastructure, and service delivery environments * Experience integrating OSS platforms with network systems, APIs, and operational tools * Proven capability in automation, scripting (e.g.Python, Bash), and Infrastructure-as-Code approaches * Experience with monitoring frameworks (e.g.SNMP, telemetry, performance monitoring) * Strong systemintegration knowledge, including APIs, middleware, and event-driven architectures * Experience with platforms such asDataMineror similar isadvantageous * Ability to lead technically, mentor others, and communicate complex concepts clearly * Strong analytical and problem-solving capability across complex environments Nōu te rourou – Why join us?  This role gives you the scope to influence how a national network is monitored, managed, and improved.
