KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • A Master of Divinity or higher degree in theological education
  • An ordained Reverend
  • Ten or more years of pastoral ministry experience
  • Solid track record of leadership role in shepherding a medium size (300-350 people) congregation
  • Fluent in both English and Chinese, and possibly in Mandarin
  • Familiar with the North American as well as North American Chinese culture
  • A visionary in expanding God’s kingdom in developing programs, mobilizing the saints and empowering the lay leaders and other volunteers.

Responsibilities

The Lead Pastor is to provide spiritual oversight and leadership to the church in partnership with other pastors and with the lay leaders in the Deacons Board and Spiritual Council.
The Lead Pastor is responsible for leading the Pastoral Team and overseeing the operation of the church office, and is accountable to the Deacons Board.
The Lead Pastor (like other pastors) will need to perform regular pastoral duties (such as preach, teach, administer the sacraments, evangelize etc.), as well as overseeing the Christian education for the whole church.
