LEAD PASTRY CHEF - JOB DESCRIPTION

innovative Lead Pastry Chef to manage all pastry and bakery operations, ensuring quality,
creativity, and customer satisfaction.
Job Title: Lead Pastry Chef
Location: Toronto, ON
Job Types: Part-time, Full-time
Salary: $18.00-$20.00 per hour + tips

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience: Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a food & beverage setting involving

food preparation, bakery/food production.

  • Education: Community College diploma and Inter-Provincial Red Seal certification.
  • Leadership:* Demonstrated leadership skills with a focus on results and achieving

marketing/sales objectives.

  • Skills:* Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, creativity, attention to detail,

and ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Knowledge:* Wide range of ingredient knowledge, baking equipment, techniques,

and precautionary measures for possible hazards (WHMIS).

  • A valid driver’s license and own vehicle is an asset.
  • Experience in chocolate making is preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Bakery Operations Management: Oversee bakery food preparation operations,
    including the production of baked goods for all outlets, ordering ingredients, and

managing inventory costs.

  • Recipe Development: Create, review, and revise recipes to ensure innovation and

high standards. Audit standard operating procedures to maintain product consistency

and quality.

  • Training and Evaluation: Train, observe, and evaluate team members to ensure

compliance with company standards, health codes, and preparation methods.

  • Administrative Duties: Handle purchasing requisitions, manage disputes or

complaints, and ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Menu Development: Create and develop customer-driven menus that are profitable

and on-trend.

  • Team Collaboration: Work effectively as part of a team to drive business success.
  • Compliance: Adhere to workplace policies, internal control procedures, and health

and safety regulations.

  • Media and Marketing: Create and participate in media opportunities to showcase

Hailed Coffee. Develop content for marketing purposes, including events, social media

and promotional materials.
