Description

Thanks for your interest in Success Academy! Running the largest, fastest-growing, and highest-performing network of public charter schools in New York City takes a village - families, children, teachers, staff and faculty, advocates, and supporters alike. We would love to welcome you to our community! We work tirelessly every day to ensure each child in NYC has access to a fun, rigorous, whole-child education regardless of zip code or economic status. When you join SA, you play a part in giving every student who walks through the doors of one of our 57 schools in NYC a fair shot at reaching his or her potential.
This school year marks the 19th anniversary of Success Academies and the launch of our mission to drive public education as an excellent, efficient, and equitable pillar of American society. During this time, Success Academies has grown faster than any charter network in the nation, building a vibrant network of 59 elementary, middle, and high schools. Our 20,000 children – from underrepresented communities – are out-performing students at top city and suburban schools across New York State. Looking forward, our goals are even more ambitious: to grow to 100 schools and to educate 50,000 children across New York City in a uniquely holistic pre-K-12 system, bringing transformational change here and across the country through extraordinary school quality.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

At Success Academy, our People Operations team is dedicated to providing an outstanding employee experience and supporting our staff throughout their careers. As the Lead, People Operations, you’ll be the architect of this journey, ensuring every touchpoint, from onboarding to daily support, is seamless and efficient.
This role is for a strategic leader who excels at managing the full employee lifecycle. You’ll be responsible for overseeing all operational and administrative functions, with a strong focus on compliance, process efficiency, and exceptional service. You’ll report directly to the Leader of People Operations, and your expertise in data management, onboarding, and employee support will be crucial to your success.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Data Management & HRIS Administration: Serve as the primary administrator for our HRIS (Workday), ensuring data integrity and the accurate processing of all employee transactions. You will manage the data intersection of our ATS (Greenhouse), third party background check vendors (HireRight, TEACH), ticketing platforms (ServiceNow) and our HRIS (Workday).
  • Onboarding & Employee Lifecycle: Own and optimize the end-to-end new hire onboarding process, including background checks and I-9 verification. You will also manage all change details throughout the employee lifecycle through the HRIS and oversee the offboarding of employees to ensure a seamless and compliant process.
  • Process Optimization & Service Level Agreements (SLAs): Manage and monitor all employee inquiries and support tickets, ensuring our team meets and exceeds established SLAs.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Conduct data analysis and manage reporting dashboards to track team performance and service metrics.
  • Compliance & Policy Management: Act as the central point of contact for employees regarding HR policies and procedures. You will ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Vendor Management: Manage vendor relationships, including with our background check provider and other key partners.
  • Continuous Process Improvement: Lead initiatives for continuous process improvement in People Operations, leveraging data to identify performance strengths, weaknesses, correlations, and trends. Through data-driven decision-making, you will lead projects to make better, more informed decisions and identify opportunities to continually enhance service delivery and align processes to current and future business needs. These initiatives will focus on leveraging technology to increase efficiency and enhance the employee experience.
