PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS ENGINEERING LEAD THE ROLE: The successful candidate will lead a team of Performance Engineers within AMD's Client Performance Team in Bangalore, India. The team’s mandate is to analyze performance and drive next generation CPU hardware and software optimizations on key applications for AMD’s PC and Gaming processors. This role will involve analyzing and tracing system-level workloads, performance modeling of internal and competitive hardware platforms and the development of performance evaluation tools and methodologies. THE PERSON: You have a passion for leading edge SoC architecture, design and verification. You are a team player who has excellent communication skills and enjoys collaborating with architects & engineers located in different sites and time-zones. You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and are willing to learn and ready to take new challenges. You are a hands-on leader capable of developing a team of engineers. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead a team of talented engineers that are characterizing and tracing a variety of workloads Characterize the properties of various Client workloads by collecting performance data from silicon runs Work with software teams to understand workloads and to drive performance optimizations Run performance simulations and analyze results to evaluate architectural features Enhance and develop application tracing and analysis tools and techniques in order to meet the unique challenges posed by differing workloads Develop and maintain tools for data collection and analysis Carry out multi-discipline interactions with microprocessor architects, ISA definition owners, software optimizers, compiler team, logic designers, and verification engineers to identify, resolve and document architectural performance issues PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 12+ years of prior industry/academic experience Proven track-record of building and leading teams of talented engineers Experience with computer architecture, system simulation, and performance evaluation Experience with computing software, including operating systems, hypervisors, compilers, drivers, and workloads Adept at mathematical and statistical modeling and data analysis Detailed microarchitecture knowledge of CPU, NoC, and/or DRAM controllers Proficient in various programming languages including C/C++ and Python ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: Bachelors, Master’s or PhD degree in Electronics/Computer Engineering or Computer Science with emphasis on computer architecture preferred #LI-PK2 Benefits offered are described: AMD benefits at a glance.
