Description The Lead Pharmacist supports our East Pharmacy owning the day-to-day pharmacy operations and team performance while also fulfilling core pharmacist responsibilities. This role schedules pharmacists/technicians, oversees all workflow queues (Doseform, BestRx), manages PTO and training, and ensures clinical accuracy, regulatory compliance, and excellent patient/prescriber experience. Key Duties: Leadership & Scheduling: Build and manage weekly/monthly schedules, oversee call-offs and coverage, and coordinate on-call rotation. Operational Oversight: Manage all workflow queues (Doseform, BestRx), including data entry, clinical verification, claims adjudication, dispensing, counseling, calls, shipping, ordering, receiving, automation, and specialty program workflows. Training & Development: Train and cross-train team members, maintain competency matrices, and provide coaching. Patient & Prescriber Experience: Monitor call quality, resolve escalations, and ensure clear, empathetic communication. Pharmacist Duties: Verify prescriptions, dispense medications, provide patient consultations, oversee inventory, and ensure compliance with legal and accreditation standards. Work Schedule & Environment Full-time role requiring standing, computer use, and occasional lifting (25–30 lbs). Participation in an on-call rotation (evening/weekend text response every ~6 weeks). Core Competencies Operational Excellence People Development Clear Communication Ownership & Integrity Requirements PharmD or BS Pharmacy. Active, unrestricted pharmacist license in South Carolina (with eligibility for additional states). 3-5+ years of community, specialty, or central-fill pharmacy, with demonstrated supervisory/leadership responsibility. Proficiency in pharmacy dispensing software, EHR systems, and pharmacy automation. Strong experience in scheduling, training, and workflow management. Strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and excellent communication/documentation skills.
