Job Summary: Assists the department by leading the work of lower level technicians and/or coordinating department operations (e.g., scheduling, workflow coordination etc.). Coordinates the procurement, storage, security, and distribution of pharmaceuticals and related supplies. Job Requirements: Education and Work Experience: * High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred * Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred * Three years' technical experience: Preferred * Two years' hospital pharmacy purchasing and inventory management experience: Preferred Licenses/Certifications: * State Pharmacy Techncian license: Required in state of practice (CA or OR) * Pharmaceutical Technician Board certification: Preferred Facility Specific License/Certifications: * State Pharmacy Technician license: Required Essential Functions: * Locates, evaluates and selects cost-effective supply sources. Considers contractual obligations and product availability. Updates and maintains ordering and inventory control system, including purchasing and inventory records. Sets reorder points to maximize inventory turns while maintaining adequate supply level. * Updates and maintains ordering and inventory control system, including purchasing and inventory records. Sets reorder points to maximize inventory turns while maintaining adequate stock levels. * Processes invoices for payment in a timely manner including approval, reconciling product received against items billed, and matching packing slips to invoices. Processes disposal and/or disposition of outdated, overstocked, or damaged merchandise; obtains proper credits or exchanges. * Monitors integrity of the supply chain. Manages receiving and storage of ordered products. Prepares usage reports to monitor purchasing patterns and trends. Assists director, clinical specialist, and others in analysis of drug purchases. Monitors formulary compliance. * Completes, compiles and maintains controlled substance records, including (but not limited to) invoices and DEA222 forms (manual and electronic). Oversees annual pharmacy drug inventories, including fiscal and controlled substance inventories. * Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
