Description The Lead Pharmacy Technician plays a critical leadership role within the pharmacy, serving as the operational bridge between pharmacists, packaging teams, and inventory operations. This individual is responsible for supporting day-to-day workflow, coaching team members, reinforcing company processes, and ensuring that operational targets are consistently met. The Lead Pharmacy Technician must be self-motivated, solutions-oriented, and capable of independently resolving issues with appropriate support from the PIC and leadership team. Duties & Responsibilities Leadership & Team Alignment Model and reinforce a positive, collaborative, and professional work environment. Motivate, mentor, and support technicians across packaging and inventory teams. Promote alignment with established company processes, workflows, and performance expectations. Lead by example to cultivate teamwork, accountability, and consistent adherence to standards. Assist the PIC in uniting teams around shared goals and operational targets. Operational Oversight Oversee packaging operations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with internal SOPs and regulatory requirements. Assist with inventory management, including receiving, stock rotation, cycle counts, and identification of inventory discrepancies. Monitor daily workload distribution and adjust assignments to maintain efficiency. Ensure proper documentation, packaging quality, and labeling standards are consistently met. Problem Solving & Decision Support Address workflow issues proactively and independently; escalate to PIC or leadership when needed. Identify operational inefficiencies and contribute solutions to improve productivity and safety. Support change management during rollout of new processes, technology, or performance initiatives. Communication & Cross-Functional Support Serve as the point person for technicians with workflow questions or operational concerns. Communicate clearly and effectively with pharmacists, leadership, and team members. Ensure smooth handoffs between packaging, inventory, and other operational areas. Requirements Skills & Abilities Must possess an active CT State Board of Pharmacy Technician License. Immunization Certification is preferred, not required Can perform pharmacy calculations. Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) strongly preferred. Demonstrated leadership ability or prior lead/supervisory experience. Strong understanding of pharmacy workflow, packaging processes, and inventory management. Understands basic pharmacy language to interpret prescriptions. Ability to complete projects promptly. Ability to work with little oversight and/or guidance. Physical Requirements Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times and traverse close quarters quickly.
