The role you’ll contribute: The Lead Phlebotomist assists the Processing Area Supervisor in coordinating the daily activities of the Phlebotomy Team and Specimen Processing area and is the primary provider of orientation and training for newly hired, as well as, providing updated in-service to the Phlebotomists and Laboratory Assistants. Acts as the "In Charge" person over the Phlebotomy Team and Specimen Processing Area during the times the Processing Supervisor is absent. The value you’ll bring to the team: · Ability to learn and use the Laboratory Information Systems. · Ability to learn laboratory rules and regulations including: CAP, CLIA and State of Florida. · Ensure specimens are correctly labeled and orders are received. · Documents temperatures of equipment, performs preventative maintenance of equipment. · Excellent communication and client service skills. The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed: · High School Graduate or Equivalent. · 2+ hospital-based phlebotomy based in a laboratory setting. · Phlebotomy (venipuncture and capillary). · Clinical Laboratory experience including Phlebotomy. · Phlebotomy Technician or Certified Laboratory Assistant. · BLS - Basic Life Support Required.
