In this full-time role, you’ll work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays, ensuring the smooth and accurate daily operations of our department. You’ll collect and process specimens, maintain a safe and professional environment, and serve as a coach and mentor for new staff, collaborating closely with medical technologists. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of phlebotomy experience along with strong phone and computer skills. Responsibilities: Complies with all organizational and departmental policies, procedures, and protocols. Collects, labels, and processes specimens accurately and on time, following patient ID policies. Communicates professionally with patients, clients, and coworkers; escalates unresolved issues to supervisors. Confirms orders and gathers accurate billing, diagnostic, and insurance information when needed. Delegates tasks and priorities to staff as appropriate, ensuring workflow efficiency. Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including supplies and waste management. Performs clerical duties such as filing, data entry, faxing, and preparing mail. Trains, mentors, and orients new employees to departmental standards and procedures. Documents all activities, logs, and incidents accurately and promptly. Participates in teams, special projects, and ensures compliance with dress codes, safety regulations, and other policies. High School diploma or equivalent. Certification from an accredited Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant program is preferred. Minimum 2 years' experience. Medical terminology knowledge and laboratory information system experience is preferred. Must have the ability to establish work priorities and handle several procedures simultaneously. Must interact with other departments.
