Description

This is a fantastic opportunity to join HCA Healthcare UK, as the Lead Physicist for the Treatment Planning and Brachytherapy services. HCA Healthcare UK has a highly skilled treatment planning team operating across sites at London Bridge and Harley Street, which house a fleet of four Varian Truebeam linacs. In 2026 the department is upgrading its Aria system to version 18 in a cloud-based architecture, offering significant opportunities for clinical development and service improvement. A growing prostate brachytherapy service is provided at HCA facilities located in the Cancer Centre at Guy's. In this role you will provide managerial leadership and support to a dedicated team of physicists at the LBH site. You will be directly responsible for the management of all aspects of medical physics as it pertains to the Treatment Planning and Brachytherapy services across the London sites.

Job Description

  • Minimum of 1–5 years of working experience in Service Improvement,Treatment Planning,Leadership Skills,Physics,Radiation,Clinical Development
  • Drive and implement service development across the Treatment Planning and Brachytherapy service
  • Be responsible for deciding the appropriate course of action in highly complex situations which may impact the service delivery
  • Providing effective clinical leadership for staff working in the service
  • Provide specialist advice to Senior Leadership Team and Corporate to formulate future strategy
  • Be the leader, contributor and expert in the field of Treatment Planning and Brachytherapy services across wider HCA network
  • Support of SLA management as it pertains to the role’s responsibilities
  • Be responsible for all radiation protection matters including ensuring compliance with legislation i.e. IRR, IR(ME)R, and EPR
  • Immediate availability is preferred
