This is a senior, hands-on role for an engineer who enjoys owning complex systems, setting technical direction, and raising the bar for engineering excellence in fast-moving product environments. You will operate across backend services, frontend applications, and infrastructure—owning foundational systems while influencing architecture, security, and engineering culture. Key Responsibilities Platform & System Engineering Build and scale end-to-end platform capabilities using Python and modern web technologies. Design robust backend services and APIs using frameworks such as FastAPI or Django. Develop and maintain distributed, real-time systems with a focus on reliability, performance, and security. Implement platform-level capabilities such as access control, monitoring, governance workflows, and secure integrations with AI services. Architecture & Technical Direction Own system architecture decisions across services, data stores, and infrastructure layers. Design systems for high availability and throughput using Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, and Redis. Define best practices for scalability, observability, and fault tolerance across the engineering organization. Engineering Leadership Act as a technical anchor for complex initiatives, driving projects from concept to production. Review designs and code to ensure maintainability, performance, and long-term scalability. Mentor engineers and support their growth across backend, frontend, and infrastructure domains. Product & Stakeholder Collaboration Work closely with product managers and engineering leadership to convert business requirements into technical solutions. Influence the technical roadmap and ensure platform capabilities align with future product needs. Balance rapid execution with long-term architectural soundness. Security, Compliance & Reliability Design secure-by-default systems with strong governance, auditing, and compliance considerations. Ensure systems are observable, monitored, and production-ready at scale. What We’re Looking For Experience: 4–8 years of professional software engineering experience, preferably in high-growth startups or product-led companies. Backend Strength: Deep expertise in Python, with a proven track record of building production-grade services and APIs. Frontend Capability: Strong working knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks (React preferred). Distributed Systems: Experience building and operating secure, distributed, and real-time systems. Infrastructure: Hands-on experience with containerized, cloud-native platforms. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent real-world engineering experience. Bonus Experience Exposure to AI infrastructure, LLM integrations, or AI governance systems. Experience with Go or Rust for performance-critical services. Familiarity with observability stacks and tooling for distributed systems.
