JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for an experienced Hands-on Lead Platform Enginee r that will work on innovative and transformational initiative s at TD Securities - the implementation of the next generation Trading Risk Warehouse platform. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design and development of a scalable, resilient and high performing PnL (Profit and Loss) report ing platform that will be u s ed by Risk Analysts, Front Office Traders, and Senior Executives. This is a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies to solve problems of scale and speed. As a lead platform engineer, you will be working on leading platform engineering team to pinpoint the system bottleneck, providing tangible sol utions quickly to resolve platform issues, automating platform maintenance tasks as well as demonstrating a strong technical leadership to ensure the quality of deliverables in a timely manner .

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

• Proficient in p rogramming skills for automation: Unix shell scripting, python or other programming language
• Networking and Linux administration

TECHNICAL SKILLS

• 10 + years technical leadership experience in leading platform engineering team and managing large scale and mission critical platform.
• E xperience in leading and completing large scale platform migration initiative .
• Strong experience with managing Hadoop platform including HDFS, Spark and Hive
• 8+ years’ experience in L inux system administration .
• Experience in managing web and service/API platform .
• Experience working with messaging technologies ( e.g. Kafka)
• Experience with RDBMS, demonstrable fluency in SQL and any non -relational DB such as Cassandra (is preferred) .
• 6 + years of e xperience managing Git, CI/CD toolset (Maven), Jenkins, working within an Agile environment
• Experience in implementing and managing system monitoring tools.
• Experience developing and managing highly scalable and low latency systems.
• A passion for bringing best products to the customer, simplifying and automating work, for making things better, for being efficient and helping others .

BUSINESS SKILLS

• Good communication skills. Experience in collaborating efficiently within a global team .
• Demonstrable experience working in a fast-paced environment, working with Engineers, BSA/QA, PMs and our business sponsors .
• Nice to have - Hands-on experience with market risk and/or PnL (profit and loss) reporting .

• Lead the platform team to build and maintain a high performing platform and ensure the platform meets the need of business, providing stability, reliability, security and scalability.
• Manag e underlying infrastructure, including hardware, software and storage resources .
• Manage multiple environments (Prod/Pre-Prod/Lower environments) and ensure the integration and stability of environments.
• S treamline code promotion process and providing ways to improve developer productivity .
• E nsure the stability o f platform and TRW ecosystem .
• F ind ways to o ptimize platform and address system bottleneck s .
• Ability to analyze system issues and provide a solution to resolve the issue permanently.
• Promote the best practices and follow the continuous integration and delivery .
• Drive transformation by continuously looking for ways to automate existing processes and workflow s.
• Explore new capabilities and technologies to drive innovation .
• Work closely with development and production operation teams to support their needs, troubleshoot issues and enhance the platform.
• Ability to manage and guide platform team and deliver tangible results .
