Lead Power Platform Developer Department: Global Affairs Canada (GAC) Employment Type: Contract / Temp Location: Canada Description Orangutech is a Microsoft Gold Partner specializing in digital transformation for the Government of Canada. We design and deliver secure, scalable solutions leveraging the Microsoft 365 and Power Platform ecosystem — including Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Dynamics 365, and Azure services. We are seeking a Lead Power Platform Developer to architect, develop, and lead the implementation of enterprise-grade business applications for federal clients. The successful candidate will combine technical expertise with strong solution design leadership and a collaborative approach. Key Responsibilities Lead the design, development, and delivery of enterprise applications using the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Power Virtual Agents). Translate business and functional requirements into scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions. Integrate Power Platform solutions with Dynamics 365, SharePoint Online, Azure services, and other enterprise systems. Oversee application lifecycle management (ALM) using Azure DevOps, Git, or TFS. Apply Object-Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD) and Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) principles in solution design. Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and code reviews for developers. Design, develop, test, and deploy reusable components, connectors, and APIs. Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and accessibility standards in government environments. Collaborate with business analysts, solution architects, and client stakeholders throughout project delivery. Required Qualifications Secret Clearance 10+ years of experience as a Programmer Analyst / Developer in IM/IT project environments. 5+ years developing multi-tier solutions leveraging Microsoft Power Platform and/or Dynamics 365. Proven expertise in OOAD and SOA principles for web-based systems Strong proficiency with .NET, C#, JavaScript, and REST-based integration patterns. Experience developing and deploying solutions to Azure (Functions, Logic Apps, Key Vault, etc.). Experience using Azure DevOps, Git, or equivalent for code versioning and CI/CD pipelines. Strong understanding of Power Platform governance, security roles, and environment management.
