Description Gretchen's House Child Care Centers are seeking dedicated and experienced Lead Preschool Teachers to join our educational teams in Ann Arbor. The ideal candidates will be responsible for creating a positive learning environment, implementing curriculum, and guiding a team of educators to ensure the highest quality of education for our students. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners - Lead and mentor a team of teachers, providing support and guidance in instructional practices - Assess student progress and adapt teaching methods to enhance learning outcomes - Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration - Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and administration regarding student progress and classroom activities - Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational trends and best practices - Ensure compliance with educational standards and regulations We welcome applicants who are committed to making a positive impact in the lives of young children and their families. Requirements Skills and Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or a related field Proven experience in early childhood education and in a leadership role Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team Passion for education and commitment to student success Proficient in using technology and educational software CPR/First Aid Current TB Test Current Physical Appropriate Attendance Ability to relate joyfully and sensitively to children, co-workers and families Sensitive to the individual needs of families Ability to communicate with families effectively Ability to supervise variety of staff Knowledge of rules, regulations and standards Knowledge of child development and the HighScope curriculum Ability to provide appropriate guidance Ability to seek supervision and use it constructively Evidence of emotional maturity and stability Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position Evidence of sufficient judgment
