We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Lead Brake Press Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating brake press machines to bend, shape, and form metal components according to precise specifications.
This role requires attention to detail, with the ability to read and interpret drawings in order to set up the machine to match the agreed design requirements.
We require someone to ‘hit the ground running’ so ideally are looking for a minimum of 5 years’ experience within the roofing and cladding metal fabrication industry, and recent experience of operating and running a press brake machine.
· Set up and operate hydraulic/mechanical press brake machines
· Able to programme press brake machine
· Read and interpret engineering drawings, and job orders to determine machine setup and material requirements
· Select and install appropriate tooling, dies, and fixtures
· Adjust machine settings to ensure accurate bends and dimensions
· Perform quality checks using measuring tools
· Monitor the production process and adjust as needed to maintain quality standards
· Have a commitment to safety and quality
· Maintain a clean and organised work area
· Follow all safety protocols and company policies
· Perform routine maintenance and report mechanical issues
· Record production data and complete documentation as required
· Report to team leads

QUALIFICATIONS:

3 – 5 years’ proven experience operating a press brake machine in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
Familiarity with safety procedures and use of PPE in a production environment
Ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods
Basic maths skills and attention to detail
