Description

Our product portfolio covers a wide range of emerging technologies from photonic integrated circuits to advanced optical systems and embedded software solutions. Our optical communications systems are integrated and deployed in satellite communications systems. The work is exciting and challenging and is at the forefront of the technology domains. As part of our expansion, we are currently looking for a suitably motivated - Lead/Principal Stress Engineer - to join our group.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and improve engineering practices across the Structural/Stress domain for the continuous improvement of MBRYONICS capabilities and engineering excellence.
  • Develop and execute multidisciplinary analysis workflows to predict system performance under environmental loads including thermal gradients, structural vibrations, and mechanical stresses.
  • Lead and mentor engineers, providing guidance, coaching, and professional development opportunities.
  • Foster a collaborative, resilient and innovative engineering culture within MBRYONICS.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, thermal, optical, electrical, software, systems, and other engineering teams to deliver robust, high-performance space systems.
  • Perform detailed FEA simulations using tools from the Siemens or ANSYS suite.
  • Support environmental testing campaigns including vibration, shock, and thermal vacuum (TVAC), correlating test data with predictive models.
  • Define and execute test plans to validate structural models and support space flight qualification.
  • Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, analysis reports, and verification matrices in accordance with ECSS or MIL-STD requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement in structural or thermal analysis capabilities, implementing best practices in model reuse, simulation automation, and cross-domain integration.
  • Participate in design reviews, customer meetings, and bid/proposal efforts, serving as the subject matter expert for structural modelling of space systems.
  • Work with managers and supervisors to implement quality measures and standards, with an ultimate goal of scaling up to high volume manufacturing.
