• This position is hybrid with 2-3 days in office.
• The office is located in Reston, VA.
• Candidates must be located in the D.C., Maryland, Virginia area.

OVERVIEW

Our client in the health insurance industry is seeking a Lead Product Owner to lead key initiatives across the organization. This role involves identifying opportunities for operational efficiency gains in various departments. The Lead Product Owner will capture ideas, drive conversations with senior leadership, and follow up on benefit hypotheses and potential ROI. Key Responsibilities:

• Own and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring alignment with customer needs and business goals.
• Write clear and concise user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Maintain a deep understanding of market trends to guide product strategy.
• Drive ideation sessions, capturing use cases and benefit hypotheses, and presenting them to senior leadership.
• Support backlog grooming sessions and sprint planning meetings, ensuring alignment on initiatives.
• Create and present decks for use cases to drive organizational adoption.
• Ensure that delivered products meet quality standards and customer expectations.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s Degree in Product Management, Engineering, Information Technology or related field.
• 8 years of experience in business analysis, business development, solutions development, system analysis, technical design/development implantation or equivalent experience OR6 years Previous product owner experience with an in-depth knowledge of agile process and principles.
• In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.
• Certified Scrum Product Owner PO certification
• Product vs Strategy and execution expertise
• Strong understanding of Google Analytics, AHA, healthcare, digital tools and backend technology expertise.
• Proficient in Agile methodologies, principles, and procedures.
• Ability to use Product KPIs and business metrics to optimize the product.
• Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines.

PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Scaled Agile certification (e.g., SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager).
• Experience in the health insurance industry or related field.
• Familiarity with Jira or similar agile project management tools.
• Advanced degree
