Description The Belfast Community Co-op is looking for an experienced Lead Production Cook to be part of our Prepared Foods Leadership Team. The ideal candidate is skilled at implementing, and maintaining systems, is solution-oriented, and is an effective communicator and leader. Belfast Community Co-op’s mission is to bring locally sourced, reasonably priced, organic and natural products to all while fostering an environment where everyone is truly welcome. This is a full-time position (30+ hours weekly), 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (closing) with a starting wage of $18.00-$19.00 per hour. The Lead Production Cook is responsible for the smooth function of the Prepared Foods kitchen during assigned shifts, and for opening or closing the department as scheduled. Shift activities include providing support to kitchen workers, ensuring execution of daily production lists, troubleshooting equipment and product quality issues, resolving customer questions and complaints, and performing the tasks of a production cook. Production Leads are an essential part of the kitchen team, providing in-the-moment leadership in alignment with department expectations, and using on-shift experience to make recommendations for improvements in department operations. Excellent command of spoken and written English. Effective communication skills; ability to work closely and cooperatively with others.
