Ontario Health (Cancer Care Ontario) is seeking an Operations Lead to support the development and enhancement of the digital health systems and data management processes that underpin Ontario’s screening programs. Ontario has several screening programs which include ColonCancerCheck, the Ontario Breast Screening Program, the Ontario Cervical Screening Program, the Ontario Lung Screening Program and the Ontario Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Screening Program. This role is pivotal in driving operational excellence and digital health system enhancements through collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Here is what you will be doing

  • Translate program policies and operational best practices into business requirements for program improvements.
  • Lead the development of digital system deliverables which may include a minimum data set, data dictionary, business system requirements and user manuals to support system development, stakeholder engagement, reporting and performance monitoring
  • Provide subject matter expertise on business system (IM/IT) requirements to internal and external program stakeholders
  • Lead planning and execution of deliverables to uphold data and service quality standards.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including IT and clinical leadership, to design and enhance healthcare programs and the digital health systems.
  • Monitor operational reports and conduct data analysis to ensure adherence to service quality and standard procedures.
  • Manage vendor relationships to ensure alignment with business objectives and resolve operational issues.
  • Develop project timelines, plans, and stakeholder engagement strategies for operational initiatives.
  • Provide project and stakeholder performance updates to management and senior leadership.
  • Drive continuous improvement of processes and digital system tools to support healthcare program goals.
  • Perform cross-functional duties as required.

Here is what you need to be successful

Education and Experience

  • Degree in Health System Management, Information Management, Health Science, Public Health, Business Administration or related field or recognized equivalent required
  • Three to six years of overall work experience in a similar capacity required
  • Experience in defining digital system requirements to support digital system development is an asset
  • Experience developing information technology solution business requirements and executing business acceptance testing an asset
  • Experience delivering projects and following project management methodologies is an asset
  • Experience developing indicators and monitoring processes is an asset
  • Experience in engaging and soliciting support from key stakeholders in the delivery of responsibilities
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and contracts an asset
  • Experience developing information technology solution business requirements and executing acceptance testing an asset
  • Certification in project management, Lean and/or Six Sigma an asset

Knowledge and Skills
