WHAT YOU’LL BRING

• Strong experience in CNC programming, especially across 3 and 5-axis machining centres
• Proficiency in Hypermill or other relevant CAM software
• Solid CAD skills for tooling/fixture contributions
• Great communication skills - you can translate complex technical ideas across teams
• A proactive mindset with a commitment to safety, quality, and performance
• Confident using MS Office and general IT tools

As the Lead Programmer, you’ll be the technical authority for all CNC programming activity in our metallics department. From supporting new product introductions to implementing cost-saving process optimisations, you’ll lead with expertise and collaboration across Engineering, Production, and Commercial teams.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Leading the development and oversight of all CNC machine programs (3 & 5-axis mills, lathes, mill/turns)
• Ensuring programs are safe, efficient, and production-ready
• Supporting the prove-out of new processes on the shop floor
• Driving improvements in cycle time, tooling strategy, and overall process quality
• Coaching and developing junior programmers
• Collaborating on tooling and fixture design within CAD/CAM environments
• Playing a key role in root cause investigations and continuous improvement initiatives
