An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Lead PSV Technician to join a leading transport company in the Slough area. My client, a prominent operator with a large depot in the region, is looking to recruit experienced Lead PSV Technicians on a full-time basis.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Full UK driving licence is essential.
• Possession of a Commercial Licence is advantageous, but training can be provided.
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualifications in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance.
• Previous experience as a Bus Mechanic / PSV Technician is required.

ROLE OVERVIEW:

As a Lead PSV Technician, you will be responsible for overseeing the mechanical engineering operations, including servicing, breakdowns, and inspections of buses. You will diagnose faults, specify the appropriate repair methods, and estimate repair times, ensuring all work meets the highest standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead and manage mechanical engineering operations, overseeing bus servicing, breakdowns, and inspections.
• Diagnose faults, specify the correct repair methods, and accurately estimate repair times.
• Stay flexible with working hours to meet operational requirements, including keeping up to date with new engineering standards and health and safety legislation.
• Review each bus’s history, focusing on recurring defects, before carrying out inspections.
• Apply modern repair techniques, using electronic and mechanical diagnostic equipment (e.g., brake rolling road tester, smoke meter, headlight alignment tester, engine oil sampling, diagnostic laptop).
• Utilize computerized engineering systems for data input and extraction.
