Description

We are looking for an experienced Lead QA Automation Engineer to design, build, and lead the test automation function for a modern JavaScript/TypeScript platform. You will combine hands-on test automation with ownership of QA strategy, processes, and mentoring of other engineers. Responsibilities Define and implement the overall QA automation strategy and test architecture Design, develop, and maintain automated E2E, API, and integration tests using JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks (e.g. Playwright, Cypress, WebdriverIO) Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and ensure reliable, fast feedback on product quality. Establish QA processes, documentation, and best practices for scalable, maintainable test automation Mentor and support junior and mid-level QA engineers; participate in hiring and technical interviews. Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to plan testing, manage risks, and report on quality metrics, defects, and coverage. Requirements 7+ years of experience in QA automation with strong hands-on skills and framework design 5+ years working with JavaScript/TypeScript-based test automation tools such as Playwright, Cypress, or WebdriverIO 3+ years of experience mentoring other engineers or leading small QA teams Strong experience in E2E, API, and integration testing, including test data management. Experience integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitHub Actions, GitLab CI) and working with Git-based workflows. Good understanding of Agile/Scrum and the software development lifecycle. Skills Proficiency in JavaScript and/or TypeScript; experience with Python or Java is a plus. Deep knowledge of at least one modern test framework (Playwright, Cypress, or WebdriverIO). Experience with REST API testing tools (e.g. Postman or code-based approaches) and SQL for data validation. Familiarity with testing patterns such as BDD, Page Object Model, and similar approaches. Personal attributes Able to work independently, quickly understand complex systems, and deliver results with minimal supervision. Strong communication skills with the ability to explain testing approaches and results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Enjoys mentoring others, improving processes, and building a strong quality culture within the team. Looking for a stable, long-term role with broad ownership of QA automation.
