Description The Lead Quality Control Engineer at Hyper Solutions is responsible for daily quality execution across multiple manufacturing locations in a fast-paced, custom production environment. This role partners closely with Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain to ensure product quality, process control, and rapid issue resolution while maintaining throughput and customer commitments. Core Responsibilities Provide ongoing quality oversight across multiple manufacturing sites in the U.S., ensuring consistent execution of inspection, testing, and acceptance criteria. Act as the primary Quality Control owner for new product introductions and special projects. Work in tandem with Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain on build readiness, quality inspection tracking, process control, drawing and specification interpretation, design-related quality concerns, and incoming material inspection. Manage and support site-level quality teams, providing technical guidance, issue escalation, and prioritization of daily quality activities. Apply and enforce engineering and customer quality requirements across complex, high-mix production builds. Track and report key quality metrics via MES. Identify recurring issues and drive systematic improvements. Lead real-time responses to production quality issues to minimize downtime and escapes. Ensure inspection plans, QC checklist release and development, QC documentation, and revisions. Support Supplier Quality Engineers with nonconforming material dispositions and execute root cause analysis using 8D and Fishbone problem-solving tools. Support ISO 9001:2015 compliance and provide support to the Quality Systems Engineer. Additional Requirements Standardize inspection methods, acceptance criteria, and quality processes across all locations. Provide guidance on inspection techniques, defect evaluation, and documentation standards. Use data to prioritize quality initiatives. Learn automation to drive continuous improvement. Mentor site Quality Control inspectors, technicians, and Quality Engineers. Requirements B.S. in Engineering, Business Management, Computer Science, or an equivalent business discipline. Minimum of five (5+) years of related experience, including managing third-party quality assurance. Minimum of two (2) years leading a team of Quality Control Engineers. Expertise with ERP systems is a must. Knowledge of MES, ERP, and PLM systems; MS Office Suite; FMEA and RCCA tools; ECO/ECN processes; BOM structures; QC checklist creation; and risk-based decision-making under production pressure. Experience leading continuous improvement activities utilizing Lean and 5S methodologies, where appropriate. Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics. Electrical testing knowledge and/or experience. Experience in contract manufacturing quality assurance. Willingness to travel up to 50% to multiple manufacturing sites. Preferred Qualifications Strong attention to detail, critical thinking skills, and a high level of organization. Location Onsite in Richmond, VA, or remote, depending on candidate location and business needs. Compensation The anticipated starting salary range for this role is $120,000 - $135,000 per year. Actual salary varies due to factors that may include but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, certifications, and location. This hire will be eligible for a discretionary bonus or incentive compensation. Variable compensation may depend on various factors, such as individual and organizational performance.
