THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a hands-on Lead Quality Engineer to join our technical team. This role is ideally suited to someone with experience in practical problem-solving of real manufacturing engineering quality issues, particularly in overseas factory environments.

COMPETENCIES & REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience in quality control and castings.
  • Strong engineering and product development/manufacture background.
  • Proven experience leading a team.
  • Hands-on problem-solving skills for manufacturing engineering issues, ideally in overseas factory environments.
  • Professional and proactive work ethic.
  • Highly organised with excellent communication skills.
  • Enthusiastic, approachable, and able to work across cultures.
  • Right to work in the UK without restriction.
Responsibilities
  • Leading a Quality Team.
  • Must be prepared to travel globally to support customers and our manufacturing facilities.
  • Support cost reduction activities with the purchasing and Request for Quote (RFQ) teams.
  • Developing new quality documentation and control methods.
  • Monitor factory / component performance.
  • Lead factory audits and further develop process and documentation.
  • Be proactive with shop floor duties.
  • Working with the customer to ensure any issues are dealt with swiftly and efficiently.
  • The support and development of the Manufacturing Teams based in China, India and South East Asia.
  • Implementation and reinforcement of the company’s processes.
  • Evaluating and improving manufacturing processes by: applying knowledge of product design, casting, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors.
  • Assuring product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.
  • Maintaining product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.
  • Assisting the factory to develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors.
