Job Description We are seeking a talented and commercially astute Lead Managing Quantity Surveyor to support the leadership and delivery of post-contract cost management services within our UAE Cost Management team. You will play a pivotal role in delivering professional post-contract cost consultancy services for a high-profile, large-scale residential development in Dubai on behalf of a leading regional developer. The role requires strong leadership, commercial awareness, and the ability to manage multiple project workstreams within a fast-paced delivery environment. You will act as the key commercial point of contact for the client, overseeing a portfolio of project packages and phases, while leading a team of Senior Quantity Surveyors and Quantity Surveyors to ensure consistent and high-quality commercial management. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage a site-based team of Quantity Surveyors, ensuring consistent performance across multiple project packages and phases. Take ownership of all cost control, measurement, and valuation activities, maintaining high standards of accuracy and timeliness. Act as the primary commercial point of contact with the client, project consultants, and contractors, ensuring clear alignment on budgets, contract terms, and change processes. Review and approve payment applications, variations, and claims, ensuring compliance with contract provisions and programme timelines. Prepare and present monthly cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and commercial dashboards to both client and internal leadership. Oversee procurement strategies, tender analysis, and contract administration, in line with best practice and project-specific objectives. Lead on change management, assessing cost implications and advising the client on risk exposure and mitigation strategies. Provide strong, visible leadership to the cost management team, ensuring junior staff are mentored, supported, and developed. Champion the consistent application of industry best practices, tools, and systems across all commercial functions. Identify and deliver cost-saving opportunities and value engineering solutions without compromising on project quality and delivery. Manage complex stakeholder expectations, navigating competing priorities while maintaining programme and commercial targets. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local construction legislation, market rates, and industry benchmarks. Support broader client relationship management and business development efforts through high-quality service delivery and communication. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying (BSc QS) from a recognised university and MRICS membership or equivalent Minimum 15 years of relevant experience, including 10 years on large-scale projects and 7 years in the Middle East Proven background in consultancy roles, leading cost management services across multiple fast-paced workstreams Fluent in spoken and written English; Arabic language skills advantageous Proficiency in CostX and strong command of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel Excellent analytical, numerical, and negotiation skills with strong attention to detail Deep knowledge of construction industry standards, procurement methods, and cost management best practices Strong organisational and leadership skills, with ability to manage multiple teams and deliverables under pressure Business Line: Energy and Sustainable Cities Type of contract: Permanent contract Service Line: Buildings Region: Middle East and South Asia Job Family: Contract Management Profession: Lead Quantity Surveyor
