POSITION SUMMARY:
Lead Respiratory Therapist will serve as the primary clinical resource and operational liaison for the Respiratory Therapy Department and Sleep Lab, supporting departmental coordination, supply management, and quality reporting functions. Additional responsibilities will include, administering respiratory care and life support to patients with deficiencies and abnormalities of the cardiopulmonary system. Assess, plan, implement and evaluate respiratory care for patients under his/her clinical practice. Shall provide therapy that may include application and monitoring of medical gases, mechanical ventilator, invasive and non-invasive support, bedside spirometry, complete pulmonary function testing, artificial airway care, broncho pulmonary hygiene, pharmacological agents related to respiratory care procedures, and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation related and limited to respiratory care.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS/ QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduate of a CoARC approved school of Respiratory Care and credentialed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist by the National Board for Respiratory Care required. Licensed as a Respiratory Therapist in the State of New York. Current BLS/ACLS/PALS/NRP required. Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Care Preferred. Minimum experience of 5 years as a Registered Respiratory therapist. NBRC credential of CPFT or RPFT required.
Experience in managing a pulmonary function testing program and sleep lab is required and having additional experience in pulmonary rehabilitation is preferred.
Pay Range:
$38.78 - $49.45 per hour
