JOB SUMMARY AND QUALIFICATIONS

HCA’s Digital Transformation and Innovation (DT&I) team delivers a step change in that direction through clinically led integration of digital and AI technologies into care, and the Lead Responsible AI Data Scientist plays an integral role in these efforts.

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU WILL NEED:

  • Bachelor’s Degree – Required
  • Master’s Degree - Required
  • PhD Degree – Preferred
  • 8+ years of overall experience in various aspects of data science and machine learning (years of experience dependent on Data Scientist level) - Required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, BEHAVIORS:

  • Strong understanding of machine learning models across different modalities (tabular, text, images, etc) - Required
  • Strong familiarity with data pipelines, data governance, and model lifecycle management - Required
  • Experience with Agile development methods and tools (e.g. Azure Dev Ops) - Required
  • Experience with python, docker, data warehouse (Teradata, big query, or snowflake), sklearn, and pytorch/tensorflow - Required
  • Familiarity with enterprise regulatory environment, government relations, and risk management -Required
  • Experience in technical/academic writing and literature/policy review - Required
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple teams and stakeholders and breakdown AI for a non-technical audience - Required
  • Ability to tell a story using data and insights that drives action and change - Required
  • Domain knowledge of healthcare data – Preferred
  • Expertise in healthcare protocols and formats such as HL7, FHIR, DICOM – Preferred
  • Expert in the regulatory aspects of the healthcare domain – Preferred
  • Experience in GCP/Azure platform – Preferred
  • Experience implementing governance frameworks, policies, and best practices in a large-scale environment – Preferred
Responsibilities
  • Provide responsible AI guidance to multiple product development Pods as a subject matter expert
  • Lead and Conduct Code and Design reviews as a function of Data Science, ensuring adherence to responsible AI framework
  • Collaborate with data scientists, ML engineers, Cloud engineers, and other IT professionals to integrate responsible AI practices in the MLOPs workflow
  • Provide sample code for reference implementation to demonstrate responsible AI best practices in the AI development cycle
  • Create automation for RAI reviews in the CICD process
  • Assist with No Code and Low Code AI proof of concept initiatives by collaborating with stakeholders and ITG partners
  • Lead comprehensive reviews of AI policies to ensure compliance with industry standards and ethical guidelines
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate risks associated with AI implementations, ensuring responsible and transparent use of AI technologies
  • Translate complex technical concepts into actionable guidance for non-technical stakeholders
