Overview About the Role The primary purpose of the Lead Retail Services Worker position is to assist the Retail Services Management Team in serving as a representative for the front-of-the-house activities; coordinates, performs, and monitors operations to maintain standards and meet financial goals; completes cash/charge revenue reporting, trains staff, and enhances customer satisfaction. Shows initiative and creativity towards sales and exploration of new methods of revenue generation. Responsibilities What You’ll Do Service provided is patient centered and actively contributes to creating a friendly, welcoming and safe environment for UH customers. Communicates clearly to ensure understanding and responds to complaints and concerns by resolving issues immediately whenever possible. Organizes work process to accommodate customer needs, including internal customers and co‑workers, meets or exceeds customer expectations for service, acts as a role model for Service Excellence, maintains professional composure in the work place, and works effectively with team to ensure customer service scores for work area meet/exceed targets while demonstrating respect for patient rights. Maintains quality services in any of the Retail Food Venues. Oversees daily operations/inventory levels to ensure unit is operationally sound and optionally merchandized to meet sales goals. Maintains accurate financial/cash handling records and procedures and assists Assistant Manager with creation of daily assignment sheets. Assists in performance improvement plan development, implementation and evaluates operational systems to meet department and regulatory agency code standards. Understands and adheres to University Hospital's compliance standards as they appear in University Hospital's Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy, keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state and University Hospital regulations, laws, and policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified, and performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications What You’ll Bring High School Diploma or GED Certificate is required. Three (3) years of experience in a high-volume food establishment required. National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation for ServSafe Protection Certificate is required or must obtain ServSafe Protection Certificate within first 6 to 12 months of employment and maintain throughout employment. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English to perform the duties of the position is required. Customer Service and Hospitality oriented person. Cashier experience is required for this position. Barista experience is highly desirable. Additional related experience may be substituted for the High School Diploma/GED.
