Summary of Duties and Responsibilities: The Registered Nurse (RN) Clinical Lead provides and facilitates high-quality, evidence-based care for patients across the lifespan, from infancy through late adulthood. All while ensuring safe, compassionate, and clinically appropriate interventions tailored to each stage of life. The focus is to enhance patient safety, reduce adverse events, impact and improve patient satisfaction, support and promote optimal health status, and manage costs within and among continually expanding, diverse and complex patient populations. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Serves as a clinical resource for interdisciplinary teams. Collaborates with the Employee Health Administrator, Safety Officer, Compliance and Safety Officer, and Quality Improvement Coordinator as a clinical liaison. Plans, prepares and conducts staff education and training on new processes, equipment, workflow issues, CQI findings, policy updates, and risk management issues. Builds positive, open communication between patients, caregivers, providers and staff, and works as a team member to enhance the patient experience. Functions as a resource and provides education and training to the support staff from all clinics. Identifies and implements opportunities to build employee morale and provides individual recognition and motivation when indicated. Meets regularly with the Director to discuss ideas, issues, trends and to plan programs and training activities for the clinical support staff. Participates in the on-boarding, competency validation and training of new Variety Care staff. Monitors, coaches, and develops staff performance as it relates to clinical performance and productivity in collaboration with the Practice Administrator. Routinely rounds in the various clinics. Collaborates with Practice Administrators with planning and suggestions for staff meeting agendas and training. Advises and participates in other Clinical Services programs such Chronic Disease Management (CDMC), Chronic Care Management (CCM), and Health Access Network (HAN) programs, as appropriate. When on-site in clinic, triages walk-in patients, assessing the need for possible transport to ER, Open Access, same day appointment, or other scheduled appointment. Provides RN coverage for other service lines when needed. Assists with the accreditation process for NCQA PCMH recognition. Facilitates outside referrals for patients when necessary. Meets with other Variety Care nursing staff on a regular basis to coordinate efforts and communicate plans for company-wide initiatives and programs. Represents Variety Care in outside groups, such as the Fetal Infant Mortality group (FIMR), Compassionate Care Gathering, and others. Provides patient education grounded in current evidence-based guidelines, promoting informed decision-making and improved health outcomes. Follows universal precautions and all safety regulations; uses proper PPE as task on hand requires. Follows HIPAA guidelines and Variety Care policies and procedures as they relate to privacy and confidentiality of patients and staff. Assists with medical emergencies when in clinic, including Code Yellow and Code Blue. Conducts staff training related to emergency situations. Assists with emergency protocol development and drills. Facilitates implementation of specific grant funded projects for service line, as applicable. Serves as a professional role model for all staff. Qualifications Requirements, Special Skills or Knowledge: Active Oklahoma Registered Nurse license. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. 5 plus years of previous experience in ambulatory, primary care or community care settings. Current BLS-HCP certification required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent computer skills. EMR Experience. Leadership experience or formal supervisory role in a clinical setting. Preferred Requirements, Special Skills or Knowledge: Bilingual (English/Spanish). BLS-HCP instructor status. Healthcare management experience. Essential Functions: Able to lift a minimum of twenty-five pounds. Able to sit, walk, bend, lift, and remain on feet for extended periods of time.
