Guided by our vision “United by One Goal,” our mission is to ensure the transportation experience for the World Cup is seamless, memorable, and distinctly Kansas City  Position Title: Lead Scheduler  Reports to: Depot Manager Position Type: Fixed Term Contract Location: Kansas City, Missouri, United States  POSITION SUMMARY  As Lead Scheduler, you will play a pivotal role in planning, developing, and delivering the operational schedules required for a world-class transportation operation for the FIFA World Cup 2026™ in Kansas City.  This position is responsible for leading the Scheduling team, overseeing bus route service planning, developing vehicle and operator schedules, and ensuring all schedules align with operational requirements and U.S. DOT Labor rules. You will support the Depot Management team by providing accurate, efficient, and fully tested schedules essential for live event operations.  This is a fast-paced, detail-driven role suited to professionals experienced in complex transportation scheduling, large-scale events, or multi-route service operations.  All applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.  RESPONSIBILITIES  SCHEDULING LEADERSHIP & PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT  * Lead the Scheduling team in designing, producing, and maintaining all operational bus schedules. * Develop vehicle schedules (headways), perform driver blocking, run-cutting, and rostering for work assignments. * Evaluate, update, and implement all bus route service changes based on operational requirements. * Develop operator work runs in compliance with U.S. DOT Labor rules. * Manage roster changes and schedule modifications throughout the planning and event periods. * Provide strategic scheduling input to ensure alignment with event service standards and operational objectives. OPERATIONAL READINESS  * Lead the creation and testing of revised bus systems, driver operating schedules, and route changes. * Conduct test events/trips to validate schedules and identify required operational adjustments. * Ensure all scheduling documentation, service specifications, and operational inputs are accurate and up to date. * Collaborate with Depot Management, Dispatch, and Operations to ensure schedules integrate seamlessly with live operations. * Report incidents, delays, or scheduling issues promptly to the Depot Manager. WORKFORCE & TEAM COORDINATION  * Manage and support the Scheduling team in delivering high-quality, deadline-driven outputs. * Work collaboratively with HR, Workforce, and Depot functions to ensure staffing levels align with scheduled operations. * Provide technical guidance on scheduling software, workflow processes, and operational data integration. * Support alignment across Depot teams to ensure smooth delivery of operational plans. DATA, SYSTEMS & QUALITY MANAGEMENT  * Oversee the use of all scheduling software platforms, ensuring accurate data entry, schedule optimization, and quality control. * Integrate relational transportation data sets to produce cohesive and reliable schedules. * Maintain all documentation, schedules, files, and updates in accordance with company systems and standards. * Implement continuous improvements based on test results, feedback, and operational performance. PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT  * Represent TMS with professionalism and integrity in all meetings and communications. * Respond promptly to all communications and maintain well-organized scheduling documentation. * Be flexible with working hours — this role requires extended hours, weekends, and event-period commitments. SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE  * Extensive knowledge and experience in transportation scheduling software systems. * Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365. * Strong understanding of transportation data, route planning, scheduling workflows, and personnel rostering. * Experience in operations service planning, workflow process administration, and schedule integration. * Excellent people management and team-leadership skills. * Ability to work independently under tight deadlines. * Strong adaptability and willingness to adjust to evolving operational needs. * Familiarity with Kansas City event venues and surrounding areas is an advantage. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE  * Minimum 8+ years of relevant experience in scheduling, operations, or related transportation planning functions. * Experience scheduling within major events or large-scale operations is highly advantageous. * Ability to work flexible and extended hours, including evenings, weekends, and match days. * Fluent in English (written and oral); multilingual ability is a plus.
