Academic Req: Required – High school diploma, or equivalent Preferred – 2-year Associate degree from an accredited program/institution, or two or more years of college-level coursework Certifications: First aid CPR Emergency behavior intervention Work experience: Required – One (1) plus years of related experience and/or training Preferred – Two (2) plus years of related experience and/or training Critical Action Items & Measurable Deliverables: Relay any concern to the Program Director and Assistant Program Director(s) that might represent a danger to unaccompanied children and staff. Provide technical support to program administration when reviewing and following up with program-level incidents that pose a safety risk to clients in care. Meet all federal and state regulatory guidelines and standards that apply to this position. Participate in scheduled meetings and team decisions, and operations. Work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed or requested by supervisor. Implement Compass Connections safety protocol, including evacuating with children and other staff in case of an emergency. Maintain confidentiality in all areas of the service population and program operations. Maintain Compass Connections' professional and ethical standards of conduct outlined in Compass Connections' employee handbook, including demonstrating respect for agency staff, children, and community members, and complying with the required dress code at all times. Other Responsibilities: Ensures surveillance equipment and other equipment are operational. Ensures all records and logs are maintained in accordance with policies. Coordinates and oversees compliance of facility access protocols and collaborates with security subcontractors to ensure the security of the entire facility (to include monitoring through surveillance and in-person). Other duties as assigned. Requirements: Pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug screens throughout employment. Provide proof of work eligibility status upon request. Pass a pre-employment and biennial criminal background checks. Demonstrate the ability to: a. Respond sensitively and competently to the service population’s cultural and socio-economic characteristics. b. Work collaboratively with other staff members, service providers, and professionals. c. Work in a fast-paced environment and maintain emotional control and professional composure at all times. d. Maintain computer literacy required to meet the responsibilities of the position. e. Work effectively and without intensive supervision both independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team. Demonstrate a working knowledge of all Compass Connections policies and procedures. Responsibilities
The Lead Security Monitor is responsible for ensuring the safety of unaccompanied children and staff by relaying concerns to program directors and providing technical support during safety incidents. They will also maintain surveillance equipment and oversee compliance with facility access protocols.
