Description
Note, this is a hybrid position whereby the employee will work both from home and from the Allen Park office. Hence, the employee must live within a reasonable commuting distance from Allen Park, MI. Improve end user experience as well as system scalability for Ford applications. Design and implement observability frameworks to provide full transparency into the performance and reliability of applications, and infrastructure. Set up and maintain comprehensive monitoring systems to track system health, performance, and resource utilization. Collaborate with development and operations teams to build comprehensive monitoring and alerting systems that ensure real-time detection of issues. Establish performance baselines, set benchmarks, and measure improvements against them. Lead and develop strategies to analyze various business and technical scenarios to drive the highest levels of executive decision making around performance, infrastructure for GXP application. Identify and eliminate bottlenecks in the system to improve speed, efficiency, and resource utilization. Develop and maintain scripts and tools to automate repetitive tasks, such as data pipelines. Drive the implementation of SLOs (Service Level Objectives) and SLIs (Service Level Indicators) to ensure the availability and performance of critical systems. Identify capacity-related issues proactively and work across technical and business teams to define and implement solutions. Proactively look for potential problems that could negatively impact performance and work to eliminate or mitigate them. Create performance test strategies, plans, and scripts to evaluate system performance under various load conditions. Continuously evaluate new technologies and industry best practices to improve our SRE tooling and efficiency of Ford services and drive their implementation. Keep up with the latest performance engineering practices, tools, and technologies and drive the adoption of performance engineering best practices across the organization. Mentor engineers, provide technical guidance on standard methodologies for observability and monitoring, and lead performance engineering efforts across teams. Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or related field and 5 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation. 5 years of experience with each of the following skills is required: 1. Assess vendor/service enterprise application products for performance testing. 2. Analyze testing results to identify performance bottlenecks and recommend code optimizations for performance tuning. 3. Monitor application performance using at least 2 of the following: Dynatrace, Splunk, Data dog, JMeter, or Grafana. 4. Python for Data Analysis and automation, and Java - jprofiler for java code optimization, and JVM tools for memory management. 5. Perform automation tasks using at least two of the following: Load Runner, JMeter, Microsoft Visual Studio, or Neo Load. 3 years of experience with each of the following skills is required: 6. Analyze Database resource including CPU, Memory usage, Disk I/O, Network I/O, and transaction monitoring for scaling the databases. 7. Optimize query execution using tools including query analyzer, AWR reports and analyzing query patterns. 8. Automate repetitive tasks, create dashboards with system observability metrics. 1 year of experience with the following skill is required: 9. Setting up a comprehensive monitoring system to track system health and configure alerts for proactive issue detection. We are offering a salary of $138,486.00 - $167,048.40/yr.
