Job Description Summary As Lead Field Service & Technical Advising Specialist-Steam Turbine, you shall be responsible for : o Planning and execution of Steam turbine outages of Own fleets as well as Other OEM fleets in SQDC (Safety-Quality-Delivery-Cost) sequence. o Interacting with vendor/customer for planning and execution of the outages o Analysis & providing technical solutions to problems being encountered /identified by Thermal Power Utilities in consultation with Engineering. o Installation Management at ST Retrofit sites. o Creation of Methods Statements & Field Procedures Standards and project specific technical documentation to support outages for identified oOEM fleets. Job Description Roles and Responsibilities Working as Site Lead/Technical Lead for assigned outages including dealing with all technical & safety matters related to outage execution, owning the customer relationship during outage duration, and driving customer issues resolution within outage schedule. Align all execution team members towards outage execution excellence, including cross-functional coordination with Engineering, Sourcing, Project Management, Safety and Quality functions to achieve outage execution KPIs and customer satisfaction. Implement and ensure compliance as per company standards, laws & regulations during outage execution. Ensure implementation/regular rigor towards site DMS to achieve field service outage milestones. Ensure consistent application of business tools and processes applicable to the scope of outages being executed. Follow Field Service Management processes for upgrades/retrofit and Outage end to end process for core business. Uses technical experience for data analysis to support recommendations. Collaborates with internal and cross-functional resources to arrive at conclusions. Capture, report & implement outages best practices. Drive lessons learned and technical close-out with tangible outcomes/deliverables. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering/or equivalent from an accredited university or college. Significant experience in the outage execution of large steam turbines, preferably on 100 MW and above. At least 10+ years of on-site field experience in executing steam turbine outages at various sites/customer with 3-4 years of relevant experience as lead TFA/Site manager. Excellent communication skills while interacting with internal/external customers for outage execution. Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Desired Characteristics Technical Skills: Should have sound fundamentals and knowledge on Steam turbine technologies with operational aspects of various fleets. Rich services exposure to Steam Turbine Outage execution skills mainly on large Steam turbines of 100 MW and above. Sound exposure to constructional features with a view to manage & lead the outage team members for successful outage execution and key deliverables. Proficiency in MS Office applications (MS word/MS excel/MS Power Point) etc Sound understanding of time/cost control for assigned services outage execution related site activities of Steam Turbine Overhaul within assigned time & cost estimates. Exposure and knowledge on scheduling packages such as MS Project/Primavera shall be preferred. Analytical skills to troubleshoot on different operational problems of Steam Turbine and subsequently advise on short term as well as long term remedial measures in consultation with Service Engineering. Exposure to outage execution process like outage planning/outage execution including site mobilization/execution of job along-with designated vendors/ outage closure/ Outage feedback & Lesson Learnt. Behavioural Skills: Good observational and analytical skills. Sense of Urgency Able to quickly organize and lead colleagues, and external vendors in the team to achieve desired outcome. Systematic approach to understand problems, learn solutions and train others. A good get along with colleagues/vendors and Customers.
