Lead SharePoint Engineer Johnson Controls is searching for a highly skilled and experienced Lead SharePoint Engineer to work on the architecture, design and construction of JCI’s internal and customer knowledge bases. The ideal candidate will have an in-depth understanding of how to translate complex product requirements into an elegantly coded, usable, scalable, extensible, and maintainable SharePoint based knowledge base. The candidate will be working in an agile environment, with both onshore and offshore teammates, as well as with our leadership team, using iterative and cutting-edge development methods. Responsibilities The candidate will design and build robust, elastic, and maintainable SharePoint based applications. The applicant will be collaborating heavily with offshore and onshore teams. The candidate must be a self-starter having a thorough understanding of SharePoint, SPFx, JavaScript, and Power Automate, ReactJS, CSS, and Power BI. The candidate will report to the Engineering Manager and work closely with Product Owners, Solutions Delivery Leads, Solutions Architects, and partner companies as we deliver a fresh and modern knowledge storage and retrieval experience to Johnson Controls internal and external customers. The candidate will be expected to create design documents to illustrate software components, provide best practices on building SharePoint sites, experience in building SPFx components, and create Power Automate flows to automate document approvals. The candidate will also provide recommendations and strategies for accelerating delivery of products, using AI/ML or other technologies. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required, specializing in computer science, engineering, or related field Minimum 7+ years of experience architecting SharePoint sites Strong experience with ReactJS, CSS, JavaScript, and SPFx development Strong experience with Power Automate Experience building power BI reports and integrating them in SharePoint. Good knowledge of google analytics. Experience using Jira and Azure DevOps Experience with cloud platforms (with a strong preference for Microsoft Azure) Experience with AI development tools, e.g. GitHub Copilot Experience in design, construction, and deployment of REST and SOAP services and connecting them to SharePoint sites Strong knowledge of design patterns and coding best practices Experience with Agile/Scrum development practices and concepts Excellent communication and teamwork skills Experience and desire to work within a fast-paced, iterative development environment Johnson Controls: Enhancing the Intelligence of Buildings Your buildings have a purpose.
