LEAD SHAREPOINT SECURITY ARCHITECT – SECURE DOCUMENT COLLABORATION (EU INSTITUTIONS)

We are seeking an expert in secure document collaboration systems with deep expertise in Microsoft SharePoint and its underlying technical stack. The role involves designing, deploying, and maintaining secure SharePoint-based solutions to support high-level document collaboration needs within DG DIGIT C2 at the European Commission.
This is a strategic and hands-on role requiring extensive experience in SharePoint architecture, security, and administration. The ideal candidate will lead the secure implementation of document-sharing solutions while ensuring high availability, compliance, and security standards.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 15+ years of experience in designing, configuring, and managing large-scale SharePoint environments.
  • Strong expertise in SharePoint architecture, administration, and security for high-compliance environments.
  • A master’s degree (EQF Level 7) in IT, Engineering, or a related field. A bachelor’s degree (EQF Level 6) with additional experience may also be considered.
  • Technical certification in SharePoint Administration, SharePoint Configuration (2010 or later), or Information Security.
  • Fluent English (B2 or higher) and French (B2 or higher) proficiency (spoken and written).
  • Hands-on experience with MS SQL Server, authentication systems, caching services, search services, and user provisioning.
  • Strong knowledge of security frameworks and compliance for Sensitive Non-Classified Information (SNCI).
  • Ability to lead projects autonomously, troubleshoot technical challenges, and optimize system performance.
  • Experience in stakeholder management and working within highly structured organizations.
Responsibilities

YOUR TASKS

  • Design, deploy, and maintain secure SharePoint-based document collaboration solutions tailored for sensitive environments.
  • Manage and optimize SharePoint environments, including MS SQL Server databases, monitoring tools, log management systems, and related components.
  • Implement and enforce security measures in line with EU standards for handling Sensitive Non-Classified Information (SNCI).
  • Provide technical leadership on SharePoint security, administration, and governance, ensuring compliance with best practices.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and resolve functional and regulatory challenges related to document sharing and security.
  • Lead Proof of Concept (PoC) initiatives and prototype new SharePoint solutions to enhance performance and security.
  • Contribute to security investigations and risk assessments related to document collaboration platforms.
  • Offer expert guidance to internal teams on maintaining, securing, and optimizing SharePoint and Microsoft 365 environments.
  • Participate in technical discussions, coordination meetings, and project planning sessions with key stakeholders.
