Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Lead Shipper to oversee and coordinate shipping and logistics operations, particularly within tradeshow and event environments. This role requires extensive experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, especially SAP. The Lead Shipper will work closely with service center departments, client services, and external partners to ensure the seamless flow of materials and equipment, from tracking client assets to managing tradeshow shipping logistics. Key Responsibilities: Transportation Management * Oversee planning, execution, and optimization of transportation operations using TMS. * Coordinate with carriers and freight forwarders to ensure timely and cost-effective shipping solutions, including tradeshow-specific logistics. * Track and monitor shipment statuses, addressing any transportation-related issues. * Procure logistics for Asset Managed booths when necessary. Warehouse and Inventory Management * Manage intra-warehouse transfers, standard stock transfers, and client asset returns using WMS and other logistics tools. * Track incoming assets, equipment, and rental returns, ensuring smooth integration into the service center. * Utilize WMS to monitor inventory levels, order fulfillment, and warehouse performance metrics, implementing best practices for warehouse organization. Tradeshow and Event Shipping * Develop and implement specialized shipping strategies, including consolidations, for tradeshow and event logistics. * Coordinate with clients, exhibitors, and event organizers to meet all shipping requirements, from setup to teardown. * Manage on-site logistics for tradeshow exhibits, ensuring materials arrive and are handled appropriately. ERP (SAP) Integration * Integrate logistics functions with SAP to ensure seamless data flow and accurate record-keeping. * Generate and analyze reports from SAP to support decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives. Client and Stakeholder Collaboration * Serve as the day-to-day point of contact for internal and external assistance on incoming equipment and asset tracking. * Work closely with client services and sales teams to gather information and address freight-related questions. * Build and maintain productive relationships with carriers, vendors, and clients to ensure efficient operations and timely resolutions to issues. Process Improvement and Compliance * Implement and continuously improve processes for tracking shipments, assets, and logistics functions. * Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and company standards. Communication and Reporting * Prepare clear, concise reports and maintain accurate records of shipping operations. * Communicate effectively with internal teams, including service center leads, client services, and accounting. Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications: * Education * High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree a plus. * Experience * 5+ years of logistics and supply chain management experience, with a focus on TMS, WMS, and SAP. * Previous tradeshow industry and/or customer service experience preferred. * 1-2 years of experience in asset and equipment tracking or equivalent logistics roles. * Skills * Strong knowledge of transportation regulations, industry standards, and tradeshow shipping best practices. * Advanced knowledge of SAP, WMS, TMS, and other logistics management software. * Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. * Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. * Ability to handle multiple databases and manage complex shipment tracking. * Strong attention to detail, commitment to quality, and customer service focus. * Competencies * Ability to anticipate and respond quickly to requests from internal and external customers. * Effective communication skills, with the ability to prepare and present clear reports and business communications. * High level of organizational ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
