POSITION OVERVIEW The Shipping & Receiving Lead is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations focused on the accurate, efficient movement of inbound and outbound materials. This role ensures adherence to shipping/receiving procedures, maintains inventory accuracy, supports operational safety, and leads team members in executing workflow priorities. The Shipping & Receiving Lead works closely with logistics, procurement, operations, and customer service teams to maintain smooth supply chain processes. ---------------------------------------- KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: * Oversee preparation, packaging, and documentation of outbound shipments. * Verify that shipments meet customer requirements, internal standards, and carrier specifications. * Ensure accurate generation of shipping labels, BOLs, and other required paperwork. * Inspect outbound goods to confirm quality and accuracy before departure. * Lead receiving processes: unloading, inspecting, documenting, and routing incoming materials. * Verify shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, and quality requirements. * Report discrepancies, damages, or shortages promptly and coordinate resolutions. * Maintain accurate inventory counts and help resolve discrepancies. * Ensure proper use of ERP/WMS systems for receiving, transfers, and shipments. * Maintain organized records, logs, and documentation required for audits and compliance. * Assign daily tasks, set priorities, and lead a team of shipping/receiving staff. * Train and mentor team members on equipment, procedures, and safety practices. * Monitor performance and reinforce accuracy, productivity, and quality standards. * Foster a positive, safety-focused, and efficient work environment. * Ensure shipping and receiving areas comply with OSHA and company safety standards. * Conduct inspections of equipment, tools, and storage areas. * Promote proper use of PPE and safe material-handling procedures. ---------------------------------------- QUALIFICATIONS * High school diploma or equivalent (associate degree preferred). * 3–5 years of experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations; 1–2 years in a lead or supervisory role preferred. * Strong knowledge of logistics, freight carriers, and warehouse processes. * Experience with ERP/WMS systems (SAP, NetSuite, Oracle, Epicor, etc.). * Forklift certification or ability to obtain. * Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. * Ability to lift 50 lbs and operate material-handling equipment safely. * Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. * Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test, physical, and background check.
