Lead Installer with CDL Thomas Sign & Awning, an award-winning National Sign Company in Clearwater, FL designs, manufactures and installs illuminated and non-illuminated signage.   Thomas Sign is searching for a reliable individual to join our team as a Lead Sign Installer.   The Lead Installer is responsible for the installation of signs and sign components such as sign cabinets, pylons, pole covers and other custom-made sign assemblies.   REQUIREMENTS: Must have or be willing to obtain crane certification. Must be able to work as a team leader Must have a valid CDL License  Ability to read and understand technical and engineering drawings Must be able to work flexible hours with some overnight travel Workday begins no later than 7am. JOB SKILLS    Use of hand tools  Use of common power tools  Able to use a shovel, or have auger experience, to dig holes for concrete footers  Use of power operated truck mounted crane and ladder  Able to accurately measure and cut metal, plastic, wire, fabric, etc.  Able to assemble parts to form complete signs  Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions in English and read shop drawings  Basic electrical wiring knowledge and skills  Able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted  Able to work outside in the Florida climate  Able to climb ladders and work at heights  Must be able work well with others in a team environment  Maintain a neat and presentable appearance at all times.   Ability to resolve unique installation problems involving any kind of wall surface, unusual pole covers, and the use of wood, stucco, plastic and other special sign materials   Additional skills beneficial to the sign trade:  fabrication, plastic, vinyl, channel, or awnings, as well as self-motivation, leadership, and communication skills  ***Pre-employment drug screen and background check required***   Benefits include:  Medical, Dental, Vision, Short & Long Term Disability, 401K, PTO, Holiday Pay
Responsibilities
Lead the installation of illuminated and non-illuminated signage, including cabinets, pylons, and custom assemblies. Manage the installation team and resolve unique technical problems involving various wall surfaces and materials.
