Description

Legacy enterprise software often suffers from complexity and inefficiencies, hindering innovation and increasing maintenance costs. Many industry products were designed on outdated frameworks, making them challenging to update. Companies face the dilemma of modernizing these systems while still delivering value. AI offers a chance to break free from this cycle, yet many organizations apply it superficially, missing the opportunity to fundamentally transform software development and operation.
At Trilogy, we take a unique approach by acquiring and integrating software businesses, using AI and automation to simplify legacy systems, cut costs, and boost value delivery. Instead of treating AI as a mere addition, we embed it into our core processes, eliminating inefficiencies and empowering agile, impactful teams. This role offers the chance to lead this transformation on a large scale, working with a diverse range of enterprise and SMB products, updating technical infrastructures, and driving strategic impact consistently.
This is not your average product management role focused solely on feature prioritization or customer interaction, nor is it purely about engineering leadership and team management. It’s a technical product ownership role where you’ll act as the CTO for a product, making crucial technical choices, balancing trade-offs, and ensuring AI-driven automation replaces manual work. You’ll delve into legacy architectures, make long-term technical decisions, and drive execution using SaaS and centralized engineering resources.
If you’re eager to tackle the challenge of transforming legacy software at scale, harness AI in engineering, and oversee the full lifecycle of technical product decisions, we invite you to apply.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Over 7 years of experience in making critical architecture and design decisions on software projects, including the use of architecture design patterns or notable open-source technologies.
  • At least 2 years of experience in making design decisions involving cloud computing services, primarily AWS.
  • 4+ years in roles with full technical and delivery ownership of a revenue-generating product.
  • Experience in developing product features utilizing advanced Generative AI.
  • Proficiency in leveraging Generative AI to simplify work processes.

THIS POSITION IS ALSO KNOWN AS:

  • Principal Software Architect
  • Product CTO
  • Cloud Architect
  • Senior Software Architect
Responsibilities

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Maintain in-depth product knowledge to inform strategic decisions.
  • Create technical specifications that prioritize simplicity, efficiency, and long-term viability.
  • Utilize generative AI to automate and refine engineering processes, aligning with strategic goals to reduce manual efforts.

WHAT YOU WILL NOT BE DOING

  • Engaging in pure people management; your business and technical expertise are crucial for this role.
  • Spending time in meetings, committees, and administrative tasks; automated systems handle management overhead, allowing you to focus on creating business value.
  • Proposing high-level strategies without implementation plans; your insights must be grounded in product-level analysis.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as the CTO of a product, overseeing core functions to modernize legacy systems, optimize costs, enhance AI-driven automation, and drive business value through effective execution and strategic decisions.
