JOB PURPOSE: Lead Software Engineer provides technical leadership in design, development and deployment of Caterpillar’s state-of-the-art digital platform. This position will build a world class platform to host a wide range of digital applications. Responsibilities: Lead the approach, design, and architecture of WCM solutions leveraging the AEM (Adobe Experience Manager) platform, including CRX/CRXDE, WCM, DAM, Analytics, and Social Collaboration. Implement Adobe Experience Manager solutions for web and mobile platforms. Assess digital market technology choices to determine fit, including software, hardware, and cloud solutions. Design target architectures for technology domains and develop roadmaps for transformation. Screen and evaluate new technologies to optimize current solutions and ensure sustainability for the future. Oversee Adobe development efforts and provide technical help as required. Lead development teams and ensure the technical design, development, and maintenance of software applications and their associated components. Good understanding on AEM assets, tags and taxonomy definition Technical Skills: Expert in AEM architecture, including workflows, OSGi, sling models, and the JCR repository. Experience with Java, REST, content migration, and integration patterns, along with microservices architecture. Familiarity with Adobe cloud infrastructure and development. Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins and GitHub Runners for automating build, test, and deployment pipelines. Knowledge of web application technologies such as HTML/CSS/JS/JSON, Apache, and CDNs. Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot complex issues and find effective solutions. Excellent collaboration skills to work closely with development, operations, and other teams. Clear and effective communication skills to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences. Passion for automating repetitive tasks to improve efficiency. Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with the latest technologies and trends in the field. Nice to Have: Deep understanding of AEM Core and AEM Dispatcher. Proficiency in scripting languages like Java (since AEM is built on Java). Experience with monitoring tools like AppDynamics and AWS CloudWatch for monitoring application and infrastructure performance.
