Academic Health Plans (AHP) is a Risk Strategies company and market leader in the student healthcare industry. The AHP Lead Software Engineer and Architect is a newly created role to become the overall hands-on technical leader of our next-generation platform. We are looking for a lead software engineer and architect with experience developing software in .NET Core C#, JavaScript, Node JS, Angular, and MS SQL in an AWS Cloud Setting while providing technical leadership to a team of software developers.
The Lead Software Engineer and Architect will provide overall platform architecture design and technical direction to a team comprising AHP and Third-Party Development Partners. This team consists of full-stack developers, front-end developers, back-end developers, data base engineers, mobile developers, and SQA engineers.
Key duties include platform architectural leadership and decision-making, establishing design patterns and coding standards, leading code refactoring, leading developer code reviews, refining the software estimation process, and mentoring junior developers.
We use a hybrid software development approach with two-week sprints, a UI/UX-driven design, a modern cloud-based scalable architecture, manual and automated software QA, and CICD-based deployment and release processes.
This position may have access to sensitive information such as PII and/or PHI. As such, all AHP employees sign and adhere to AHP’s Information Security Handbook, which covers information security policies and procedures.
AHP’s offices are in Grapevine, Texas (west of DFW Airport). The candidate needs to be in the general Dallas / Fort Worth area with the ability to work in the office. AHP is adopting a hybrid working approach for Teams after an initial onboarding period.
