Description
About Cordys Analytics Cordys Analytics is transforming cardiovascular care with AI-powered ECG diagnostics. Our mission is to accelerate the adoption of artificial intelligence in cardiology — improving patient outcomes, extending lives, relieving the burden on doctors, and reducing healthcare costs worldwide. We’re building a full-spectrum AI-ECG platform that integrates resting, stress, Holter, and wearable ECG diagnostics into one seamless solution. Our software enables healthcare professionals to detect heart disease earlier and more accurately across a range of care settings. Your Role As Lead Software Engineer, you’ll be the technical heartbeat of Cordys — owning the architecture, development, and deployment of our cloud-based AI platform. You’ll work side by side with AI scientists, clinicians, and product experts to turn breakthrough algorithms into reliable, medical-grade software that’s already changing how heart disease is diagnosed. You thrive in the fast, sometimes chaotic rhythm of a startup — where challenges appear daily, ideas move fast, and initiative and creativity make all the difference. This is your chance to shape technology that truly saves lives, while building the platform and team that power Cordys’ next stage of growth. What You’ll Do Lead the design and development of the core software architecture behind our AI-driven ECG platform. Build and maintain scalable APIs, data pipelines, and production systems that connect AI models to clinical applications. Turn AI breakthroughs into usable products — translating complex model outputs into intuitive web apps clinicians love to use. Set the standard for clean, maintainable code with CI/CD, agile workflows, testing, and solid documentation. Shape compliance from day one — supporting the traceability and quality systems needed for MDR and future FDA certification. 7+ years of hands-on software development experience, including several years leading small, high-performing engineering teams — ideally within healthtech or another regulated industry where quality and traceability matter. A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field — or equivalent real-world experience. Strong programming skills in Python, C#, and modern JavaScript/React frameworks. Experience with Bazel and containerization (Docker) for reproducible builds and deployment. Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code and CI/CD practices. Solid understanding of APIs, microservices, and data pipelines, and how they fit into scalable architectures. Based in (or ready to relocate to) the Netherlands, with EU work eligibility (EU/EFTA nationality or valid work permit). Nice to Have Experience navigating medical software standards like ISO 13485, IEC 62304, ISO 27001, or MDR — or the curiosity to master them fast. A background in DevOps or MLOps for AI-driven products, where continuous learning and deployment meet real-world impact. Familiarity with ECG data, biosignal processing, or digital health platforms — and an interest in shaping how AI transforms clinical diagnostics. The opportunity to build AI technology that literally saves lives — and see your work make a difference in hospitals and clinics across Europe. A mission-driven startup culture where ideas move fast, hierarchy is flat, and your impact is visible from day one. Flexibility that fits real life — hybrid work, adaptable hours, and a bright office at Utrecht Science Park surrounded by leading healthtech innovators. A competitive salary, equity potential, and 25 vacation days + public holidays to recharge and stay inspired. Join us and help shape the future of AI-driven cardiovascular diagnostics.
